Custom electric guitars by Rob Mitchell

 

Although the bulk of my work consists of building and repairing acoustic instruments, occasionally I am asked to build electric guitars. Usually the customer has particular requirements regarding the body shape, pickups and general feel of the instrument.

 

 

 

 

The Woodnymph  is custom built guitar with a unique appearance. The body, made from solid Sycamore,  is carefully hand carved to the desired shape. The guitar features an Ebony fingerboard  with inlays and is fitted with Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Mitchell ‘ Brandocaster’ guitar is based on a familiar design and made from solid Alder. The guitar is fitted with custom wound Brandon pickups and the volume and tone cavity within the body is shielded to minimise electrical interference which can be a problem with single coil pickups.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The  Flying V was made several years ago and features a one-piece solid Mahogany body and active EMG pickups.
